#RoadToJapan: Pre-Departure Orientation

"Bear in mind that you are going to Japan not as tourists, but as representatives of the Philippines. Have fun and enjoy the learning experience.” 

This is the gentle reminder of Mr. Mark Fernandez of the National Youth Commission to this year’s delegates for the JENESYS 2018: Youth Exchange Program for Media Industry. 

Having served in previous JENESYS programs, Fernandez shared valuable do’s and don’ts in the Japanese culture which would be of great help for the delegates. From the simple courtesy of removing your shoes before entering the house, to dining etiquette and gestures etc. 

Aside from the sharing of information, NYC also oriented the participants on their obligations during and after the program. Participants of NYC Exchange Programs are automatically listed as members of the NYC Volunteers Program. The delegates are set to leave for Japan, tomorrow November 27 for an 8-day journey to discover “Cool Japan”. (ORVRivera)
